VARIETAL: 100% CABERNET SAUVIGNON
The 2016 growing season was nearly perfect on all fronts. Temperatures remained even-keeled throughout the season without any significant heat spikes in July and August. All of the blocks at the QTR Estate vineyard were harvested in mid-October before the first rain event came through Napa Valley.
The 2016 QTR Cabernet Sauvignon is a resoundingly bold, seductive wine. In the glass the wine displays a completely opaque royal purple hue with a deep violet halo on the periphery. Upon closer inspection, aromatic notes suggest black cherry, lilac oil, allspice, and macerated blueberries. The palate experience is densely layered with raspberry compote, baker’s dark chocolate, crushed rock, and lavender. The mouth feel of this wine has a finely structured set of tannins that provide a nice framework and a mouth-watering acidity that draws out the finish for some time. This is a gorgeous wine that will have plenty to offer for years to come.
